Our Story

Starting a business is never easy, but our journey to get our pump truck felt like a test of endurance, patience, and determination from the very beginning.

We had everything lined up—a flight to Miami to pick up the truck and the excitement of taking a big step forward. But two days before we were supposed to fly out, the seller called to tell us the truck wouldn’t be ready for another week. Just like that, we had to cancel our flight, lose the money from the original booking, and reschedule everything for the following week.

Finally, we made it to Miami on a Wednesday. We went to see the truck, only to hear those dreaded words: “It’s not ready yet, but it will be by Friday.” Frustrating, but fine—we were still optimistic. Friday came and went, and still no truck. Then the promise shifted to Monday. By the time the truck was finally ready on Tuesday, it was too late in the day to wire the money from our bank.

At this point, we were running on sheer willpower. We had sold our house to buy this truck, and we weren’t about to let delays stop us. We paid in cash, and by Wednesday afternoon, we were finally on the road, heading back to Indiana. But Florida had one more surprise in store for us. Not even out of the state, the front hub bearing went out. Steering was a nightmare, but somehow, Nick managed to drive the truck all the way back to Indiana. The moment we got home, the truck went straight into the shop, where it stayed—for nearly three months. Waiting on parts and repairs felt like an eternity, and it wasn’t until April that we finally had a pump truck that was operational.

Looking back, it felt like the odds were stacked against us from the start. Was it a sign we shouldn’t be starting a business? Maybe. But if there’s one thing this experience taught us, it’s that perseverance is everything. We pushed through, and here we are, ready to take on the challenges ahead.

Because let’s be honest—if we can make it through these first start-up pangs,

we will be able to handle your septic struggles with ease.

I couldn't believe it. They showed up obviously dressed for date night, but they still took my call.  I am eternally grateful for the hard work at Midwest Septic Service.
